ELEGY.

DONMAR WAREHOUSE

A minimalist design, using heat treated steel panels as the backdrop. Volcanic sand provided the floor and a vast tree, cleft in two and incased in a plate–glass box, was a central feature. The tree was felled in Hampstead, split down the middle and sanded. Once treated, the insides of the tree were covered in gold leaf. It was an incredibly delicate and heavy set to manoeuvre. For all the challenges Elegy provided for the team, the result was visually arresting once in place at the Donmar.
